I don’t know how your staff, Joanne, got hired. Talk about a red flag company. A RECRUITMENT COMPANY THAT DOESN’T TRAIN THEIR STAFF TO FOLLOW BASIC STANDARD RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE. I sent my application via JobStreet on 24 Feb 2024 (Saturday), received WhatsApp on Monday, 26/2, 9.11am simply saying she received my application. Well, OK… what do you want me to do with that info.? Absolutely no phone call at all (AKA a standard background check call). So, I asked what are the next steps. Through WA itself, texted to ask if available for Zoom call on Tuesday, 27/2, 9.30am. RED FLAG NO. 1, but I thought never mind, I’ll just go for it to get it over & done with, & to not risk being problematic. She sent the Zoom link on WA. I reminded her twice on Monday to send me an e-mail as well with details of the interview. She still insisted on using the link sent in WA, refusing to send e-mail (SENDING AN E-MAIL IS STANDARD FORMAL PROCEDURE). RED FLAG NO. 2. On the day of the Zoom call, which lasted less than 10 mins, some of the questions asked were about my age (RED FLAG NO. 3, inappropriate interview question), where I stay (clearly stated in my CV), and whether I’m a student or not (again, clearly stated in my CV). The call basically ended with her saying that you have to be a student to do Internship. Really Since, when It is NOT mentioned in the company website AND JobStreet that you have to be an active uni/college student to do internship. NO REQUIREMENT STATED AT ALL. Perhaps, look into the definition of what an intern or internship is. I can guarantee that none mention that it is compulsory to be an active uni/college/etc student. The best part of the whole call? She wanted to find out if my CV was updated or not. WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST CALL ME ON MONDAY ITSELF IF UNSURE? WHY WOULD I WASTE MY TIME APPLYING IF MY CV WASN’T UPDATED? I would rather you reject my application on Monday itself instead of setting up a Zoom call the next day. Anyway, I was rejected for the position during the call, and have not received any formal communication via e-mail or through the JobStreet portal. Useless, at this point.
