Our thanks to Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Fann Rui Jeat, Mr. Chan (physiotherapist), Dr. Chang C.K., and the attentive nursing team of Multidisciplinary Ward Lev 6, Hosp UTAR, Kampar, Perak.

Their professional, caring, and responsive approach in managing our mother's admission made a lasting impression. The hospital facilities are new and well-designed. Their incorporation of Traditional and Complimentary Medicine TCM would definitely be a strength for H. UTAR.

Thank you team Hospital Uni Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kampar, Perak.

I recently underwent wisdom tooth extraction in this hospital and I am incredibly grateful for the perfect service provided by Dr Sam. Prior to procedure Dr Sam took the time to explain the steps involved in detail and addressed all my concerns, making me feel confident and well-informed. The surgery went smoothly with no pain. Dr Sam is a skillful oromaxillofacial surgeon. The whole process took less than 25 minutes, even the procedure is thought to be more challenging. After the surgery, I was able to eat and drink. Dr Sam gave a very clear instruction and advice. The procedure room was clean and the staffs were friendly. No waiting time for procedure as I have made an appointment. The surgery started sharp at the planned time. Overall, I truly appreciate the exceptional service and will strongly recommend Dr Sam. Thank you for making my experience so positive!

Subject: Feedback on Discharge Process and Communication

I am writing to express my concerns and disappointment regarding the discharge process during my father’s recent hospitalization. It happened on 18 Dec 2024, level 6.

On the day of discharge, we requested the removal of his IV line at around 1:00 PM. The response from the nursing staff was disheartening: we were told the IV line could only be removed after settling the bill. This created unnecessary discomfort and stress, especially as my father was in pain.
We asked if we can also take back the medication which we brought from home. Again the nurse implied that we must settle our bill before they give us back my dad’s medication. This is totally absurd.
We felt this approach lacked empathy, as it implied mistrust despite our clear intention to settle the bill.

Additionally, there was no communication regarding the timeline for bill settlement. We were left waiting until after 2:00 PM without any updates, and upon inquiry, we were informed that it was the payment department’s lunch break. Had we been informed earlier, we could have used this time to step out for our own lunch, rather than waiting in uncertainty and in hunger.

To compound matters, we were charged for half a day’s room use, even though my father’s procedure was completed around 10:00 AM. We waited for the doctor to come in the room until well over noon. We could have waited outside if informed earlier that the process would take this long and that we would be charged a full day which later the hospital decided to give me a “discount” and still charge half a day for waiting in the room

Finally, we were told at discharge that there were no new medications for my father. However, after leaving the hospital at around 2:30 PM, we were called back to collect the medication, adding further frustration to an already stressful day.

While the discharge process left much to be desired, I would like to commend Dr. Mark, certain attentive nurses, and the polite cleaning staff for their professionalism and care. Their efforts were a silver lining in an otherwise disappointing experience.

I urge the hospital to review its discharge procedures, enhance communication between departments, and ensure patients and their families are treated with greater consideration and respect.

Please do not request that I send a follow-up email to the hospital email again, as I’ve noticed in other feedback that this is a common response from the hospital. Rewriting and resending my concerns wastes valuable time. Kindly treat this message as formal feedback and ensure it is recorded and addressed accordingly.

Doctor is great. Just want to feedback how is the appointment system work in this hospital. You can book the appointment time but when you at hospital on time, you still need to queuing for your turn waiting for 1 hour+. Then what is point to make an appointment? You can just say make appointment by ticketing system, first come first serve. Please re-evaluate again appointment booking system and standardised it.

This is my friend 3rd time visit. One visit worst than previous visit. When we arrive hospital as per appointment card, the staff there told me the docfor was on leave. My fren travel down crom kl, 2 hour car ride and apply half day leave,
ad you told us doctor not around. You gotta be kidding me. The staff say call my fren on Saturday to confirm whether confirm appointment but there is no such call record. This gonna be our last visit. The system sucks. The email sent to them also no reply.

If anyone's going to the emergency department in UTAR hospital, please get the attending doctor's name. If it is DR SHABBITHA, please seek treatment somewhere else, it is not worth your time and money. It was horrendous and terrible experience for the patient (my friend) and me. I'm writing on behalf of her and also myself.

I really couldn't understand how is she still employed as a Dr in this hospital still, in fact, she is not qualified to work in any hospitals. My friend had dengue and suffer nausea, body weakness, severe vomiting and difficulty breathing. When she went to visit this "knowledgeable" doctor, she claims that she is "just fine maybe because of the constant vomiting that caused the breathing difficulty", refuse upon my friend's request on getting a MC and just take the medicines she prescribed. Right after the payment of RM120+, she vomited just a couple steps away from the emergency door and fell to the ground.

Firstly, if she is "fine" why does she still have to visit hospital during late night? It was clearly an emergency that's why we chose the nearest hospital. Second of all, do you expect a university student in this body condition to attend an 8am lecture class the next day until the afternoon? If you could do it, please the stage is yours, show me how a person in this sickly state can be deemed "fit and fine" to attend any events or classes. Thirdly, that's not all after visiting the doctor and my worries grew as I see my friend's well being getting weaker, I decided to bring her to visit the Kampar Gov Hospital around 12am. Even though the service there might be a little slower but of course, they are much more responsible and caring by getting the necessary blood check and tests she needed. Also, getting a MC because the doctor can see how unfit is she as her white blood cells counts is 2 times more than normal range and the red blood cells count is less than the normal range. Which if you can search it up it is quite dangerous.

UTAR hospital, I would like you to contact me and give you my honest yet detailed and more specific feedback on call or email. I will be gladly to do so. Thank you.
